I can edit fiction manuscripts, screenplays, stage plays, non-fiction pieces, academic writing, web content, business plans, grant proposals and resumes.
Proofreading: Check and note spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation problems. Proofreading is similar to “scanning” a document to ensure it is error free. It is not as in-depth as copyediting.
Basic Copyediting: I will read your document and note common tense and flow errors, “polish” sentence structure and basic word selection.
Substantive Edit: I will thoroughly examine your document, editing at the level of the sentence, noting any organizational, structural and clarity issues.
Writing: Composition of a new document from your ideas.
Workshops: Instruction of literary workshops. Sessions can be on broad topics such as the writing profession, general methods and advice for fiction or poetry writing, or smaller group oriented sessions with peer evaluation based around specific skills like dialogue writing or character development.
